A Huge Boost for The Craft Room: £10,000 from Welwyn Hatfield Community Fund!
Updated: Jan 12
We are over the moon to announce that The Craft Room has been awarded £10,000 from the Welwyn Hatfield Community Fund! This incredible support will help us expand our holiday camp programme, enabling us to run camps during half-term breaks as well as the longer school holidays.
This funding is a game-changer for our community. For many families who regularly rely on us, these camps provide so much more than childcare—they offer a consistent, safe, and enriching space where children can stay active, engaged, and well-fed during school breaks.
While shorter than summer holidays, half-term breaks still bring challenges like holiday hunger and a lack of affordable, active options for children. We knew extending our programme into these periods was essential to ensure families receive the same level of support all year round. Thanks to this generous funding, we’re able to make that vision a reality.
The extended programme will allow us to:
🏃♂️ Keep children active through fun physical activities
🍽️ Provide nutritious meals to help fight holiday hunger
🎨 Enrich young minds with creative and educational sessions
👩👩👧👦 Offer consistent support for families in need
We’re so grateful to the Welwyn Hatfield Community Fund for recognising the importance of our work and helping us reach even more families in our area. Their commitment to improving physical health and well-being in our community is truly inspiring, and we’re proud to be part of that mission.
As we gear up for our first-ever half-term camps, we’ll be sharing updates and highlights on what’s to come. To all our supporters—thank you for being part of this journey with us. Together, we’re making a lasting difference for the families in our community.
Here’s to more fun, food, and fantastic opportunities ahead! 💜
